Plagiarism Policy

DUET follows the HEC plagiarism policy for all theses, dissertations, journal submissions and funded project reports.

Policy

All theses and manuscripts are screened with similarity detection software before evaluation.
Overall similarity above the HEC prescribed limit requires revision and re-submission.
Verbatim reproduction without citation, self-plagiarism and data fabrication are treated as misconduct.
Cases are referred to the Plagiarism Standing Committee constituted under HEC rules.
Penalties range from revision and warning to cancellation of the degree in proven cases.
